The challenge
Patients booked appointments by phone during office hours, and follow-ups depended on paper notes. The clinic network wanted a digital front door that older patients could use confidently, and that clinicians would not see as extra admin.
Our approach
We ran research sessions with patients across age groups and with clinic staff, then prototyped the three journeys that mattered most: booking, consulting and follow-up.
- Accessible by default. Large tap targets, dynamic type, screen-reader labels and plain-language copy tested with real users.
- One codebase, native feel. React Native with native modules for video calls and secure document storage.
- Clinician-friendly. A lightweight web console that fits existing clinic workflows instead of replacing them.
- Privacy first. End-to-end encrypted video, minimal data retention and audit logging throughout.
The outcome
The apps launched in both stores with a phased rollout across clinics. Phone lines got quieter, no-shows dropped thanks to reminders, and clinicians gained a clearer view of each patient’s journey.
